Learn More About Spinal Scans

Why Guess When We Can Test?

In our office, our main focus to help get you on the road to health and wellness is to ensure the proper functioning of your nervous system. But unfortunately, symptoms like pain are only the tip of the iceberg and those symptoms alone are not the sole indicator of function or dysfunction of your nervous system. So our goal is to see beyond just the symptoms and this is where our Insight Scanning technology comes in!

This state of the art technology consists of three different tests which measure how your nerves communicate with your muscles, how your nerves communicate with your organs, and how your nervous system adapts to stress. These three pieces of information give us a very vivid picture, not just of what you may be feeling or experiencing symptomatically, but also of what is going on beneath the surface, all without performing any painful or invasive procedures! It's so safe and gentle that these tests are performed on the infants and pregnant women that come into our office.  The 3 different tests tell us the following:

1. Thermal Scan

This takes temperature from side to side along your spine. In the same way that the skin around a healing cut will get hot, our nerves give off a heat response when they are irritated. This measures how our nerves are communicating with organs, glands, and blood vessels.

2. sEMG (Surface EMG)

This is used to assess how the nerves are communicating with the muscles that maintain posture. Knowing how this communication energy is being distributed gives us a really good overall picture of the function of the nervous system.

3. Heart Rate Variability

This scan measures heart rate, skin conductance (how much your skin sweats), and skin temperature. It puts all of that information together and tells us how your nervous system is adapting to stress. It lets us know if you're stuck in a stressed mode of function, or a more calm mode of function.

The information we gather from these scans help us develop a care plan specific to each patient's needs.
